Why Do I See Red and Pink Banding When Gaming on My TV?

I'm encountering a frustrating issue with my TV when I use it as a monitor for gaming. Specifically, I'm noticing red and pink banding or artifacting in shaded areas during gameplay. Interestingly, this problem doesn't appear when I'm just watching videos on the same TV. I'm not sure if the cause is related to my graphics card settings or if there's an issue with the TV's color output. I've updated to the latest Nvidia hotfix drivers and experimented with the color output settings, but I'm hesitant to adjust the hue and saturation since I'm not very familiar with those settings. If anyone can offer insights or advice, I'm more than happy to provide additional info as needed. Thanks in advance!

First off, make sure HDR is enabled in your Windows display settings. If it's already on, try disabling it and see if that helps. You might also consider running the HDR calibration tool. Additionally, if issues persist, try reinstalling your display drivers by choosing the custom installation and selecting the clean install option. This can often fix color-related problems.

I did have HDR on, but it made everything look washed out, even after calibrating the display. I wasn't getting those deep blacks and dark grays when HDR was active. It seems like when HDR is off, the banding is intermittent, but with it on, the picture is just consistently bad, so I opted for HDR off for now. I also reinstalled my display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller.

Can you share what model TV you're using? It makes it easier to narrow down potential issues.

Sure! It's an INSIGNIA NS-43F301NA22 with FIRE OS version 7.7.0.4.
