I just built a new gaming computer, and I noticed that the fans continue to run even when the system is supposed to be in sleep mode. My previous setup would have the fans turn off during sleep. Is this behavior normal for a new build running only Windows 11?

I used to have a similar issue, and it turned out to be a setting in the BIOS. If your fans aren't stopping, it might be worth looking into those power management settings.
Are you sure it's actually going to sleep, or could it just be that the monitor is turning off? Sometimes if you don’t select ‘sleep’ properly, it might seem like it’s entering sleep mode when it really isn't.
Right! When you hit sleep, does the monitor go off immediately, or does it just turn black after some time? Could be one of those settings messing with things.
I've never seen fans still running while the system is asleep. My first thought would be to check for a BIOS update. That might address how your PC manages power when sleeping.
I’m definitely hitting the sleep option. The monitor blanks out, but then the fans only stop for a second before kicking back on. It's confusing!
