Why do my PC fans get so loud when gaming?

I've noticed that my PC fans start spinning really fast when I play games, especially Guild Wars 2, while they seem fine for Marvel Rivals. I often game for long stretches, and the noise is a bit concerning, though it's not rattling or anything—just loud. Is this normal?

Yep, that's expected. Gaming really pushes your CPU and GPU, causing them to heat up. Faster spinning fans are a good thing—just means they're working harder to keep your system cool, even if it’s a bit noisy!

What kind of setup do you have? Sounds like you’re running pretty hot, especially if you're hitting 95°C on your Ryzen 5 5600x while gaming! Knowing your CPU and GPU temps can help assess the situation better.

I have a ROG Strix motherboard, a 3070 GPU, and 32GB of RAM. I think I hit around 95°C on my CPU during gameplay.

As long as your CPU is staying under 95°C, you're good to go. But if it's consistently loud at around 50°C, you might want to adjust your fan settings in the BIOS to quiet things down a bit.

It's totally normal for your fans to rev up when gaming! Your hardware generates a lot of heat during intense gaming sessions, so the fans kick into high gear to cool everything down. If they were rattling, that might signal an issue, but just being loud is usually a sign they're doing their job.
