Why Do My Video Clips Lose Color and Contrast After Trimming Them?

I've been trimming my Valorant clips using the Photo app to save space and make editing easier. However, I've noticed that when I do this, the colors often turn dull and grey, which really messes up my editing process. I even tried using VLC to trim clips since the colors look better afterward, but it's not as convenient for trimming because I have to watch the entire footage to find the right spot. Has anyone else experienced this color change after trimming? Is there a way to fix it?

It sounds like the issue could be related to how the Photo app processes the video files. When you trim clips, it might be recompressing them in a way that affects the color profile. Have you tried using a different video editing tool? Avidemux is a good option for simple edits without losing quality, and it might keep your colors intact better than the Photo app. It's worth a shot!

I'll give Avidemux a try then! Thanks for the tip!

Another possibility is that it might be an issue with the file format or compression settings. Sometimes different apps handle color profiles differently. Have you checked if saving in a different format helps? MP4 is usually a good choice for keeping quality!

I usually save in MP4, but I'll explore my settings to see if there's a way to adjust compression!
