I've noticed that my computer can handle most games at high settings and 2K resolution without a hitch. But I'm facing a strange issue with two specific games: Indiana Jones & the Great Circle and No Man's Sky, which drop to a frustrating 1-5 FPS regardless of how I adjust the settings. On the other hand, games like Doom Dark Ages and RDR2 run perfectly fine on high settings.
To troubleshoot, I've tried a bunch of things including lowering the settings to the bare minimum and using a low resolution, toggling Low Latency mode and frame limits in the NVIDIA Control Panel, updating the vulkan1.dll file, and playing around with my NVIDIA driver versions. I've even reached out to both Bethesda and Hello Games support, but haven't gotten any useful responses.
I've noticed that when I try running these problematic games, the fans on my graphics card don't spin up, and the GPU usage remains barely above 1%, even though the VRAM is maxing out at 8GB. Also, attempting to use DLSS makes it even worse, often dropping the FPS down to a shocking 0.5 in No Man's Sky!
Here are my specs:
- OS: Windows 11
- RAM: 32GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
So, what could be going wrong? I really want to get these games working!

It sounds like you’re dealing with some configuration issues. I’d suggest starting by uninstalling Visual Studio 2015-2022, as it shares components with NVIDIA drivers and could be messing things up. After that, go ahead and do a clean uninstall of your NVIDIA drivers and reinstall them fresh. This might help clear any conflicts that are causing those low FPS issues.

Would I need to uninstall Visual Studio Code as well?
