I've noticed that after my PC has been idle for about five minutes, a process named "cfg" appears in Task Manager. This process instantly starts consuming around 60% of my CPU, causing my computer to overheat even when I have nothing else open. When I try to click on it to check its properties, it disappears, even if I just move my mouse slightly. Is this a sign that I have a virus or some malware?

Most likely, it's a miner. I recommend running a full scan using Windows Defender to check for any threats. If it doesn't find anything, consider trying an offline scan. Some users have found success with Bitdefender as well. Just make sure you keep your software updated.
Gotcha! After running a scan with Bitdefender, I found something called Gen:Variant.lazy. Not sure if it’s what's causing the issue, but at least it says my device is safe now. Just keep an eye out!
