Has anyone figured out why Claude seems to forget about the Model Context Protocol (MCP) all the time? I'm curious if there's a way to fix this issue and get him up to speed.

I get what you mean! My experience is similar—Claude doesn't really seem to get MCP, but if you just ask it to use tools, it understands better. It's a bit hit or miss, to be honest.

I've noticed that Claude forgets MCP because its knowledge only goes up to October 2024, while the MCP SDK was launched later. If you're developing MCP extensions, remember to add the context from the official site to ensure proper understanding!

It's kind of funny that it forgets its own creators' protocol! But remember, the term 'MCP' was introduced after its last knowledge update, so it's not really aware of it as you mentioned.

Exactly! Since MCP was added after the knowledge cutoff, it's like asking someone what happened after a certain date—they just won't know!
