Why Does My Admin Block Rotwood and How Can I Play It Again?

After the recent update for the game Rotwood on Steam, I'm facing an issue where my system flags it as a virus, blocking me from playing. Previously, I didn't have any problems. I checked Windows Defender and found out that it's blocking Rotwood due to attack surface reduction. It also mentions something about trust antiquity checks. How can I resolve this issue so I can enjoy the game again?

If you're your own admin, diving into the Windows Defender settings is key. You can whitelist Rotwood to stop it from being blocked. Just go into the virus and threat protection settings, find exclusions, and add it there. That should help!

Thanks for the tip! I'll check those settings out.

You should try reaching out to your system admin about this issue. They might be able to adjust the security settings to let you play the game without it being flagged. If it's just you managing your system, take a closer look at the Windows Defender settings and see if you can add Rotwood as an exception.
