Why Does My CPU Spike to 100% When I Start a Game?

Hey everyone! I just built my first PC and everything seems to be working well. However, I've noticed that when I launch a game, my CPU usage spikes to 100% for about 15 seconds, and my fans go into overdrive. After that initial load, the CPU usage drops back down and the fans return to normal. Is this something to worry about? Any fixes or tips would be appreciated!

Sounds about right! If it calms down after a bit and everything runs smoothly, it should be fine. If it keeps happening during gameplay, then you might want to check your system specs against game requirements.

Yeah, that kind of spike is pretty normal when launching a game. It’s all about the game loading. Unless you’re facing other issues during gameplay, it doesn’t seem like a big deal.

It’s not unusual for your CPU to spike when starting a game. This is often just the game preparing to run, and in some cases, it could be compiling shaders for the first time. So, don’t stress too much about it!

You're likely seeing the CPU usage peak because it's working hard to load the game. Just keep an eye on temperatures and performance during gameplay, but what you’re experiencing sounds standard.
