I've been having this frustrating issue with my hard drive assigned to the letter E:. Whenever I try to move files around on it, I get a security popup saying, "These files might be harmful to your computer." It's super annoying! The weird part is, if I change the drive letter to something else, everything works perfectly. Even when I plug in another hard drive and give it the E: label, I get the same popup. I've tried adding file://E:/ to the exceptions in Internet Options, but no luck there. I really want to use E: again without having to reinstall Windows. The last thing I did before this started happening was empty my recycle bin after a massive backup with Filesync, which caused my PC to struggle a bit. Any ideas on how to fix this?

It sounds like a malware issue might be causing those popups. Make sure you run a full scan on your system; sometimes malware can act up and cause drives to be flagged as harmful. Let me know what your antivirus finds!
Have you tried running a disk check? Right-click on the E: drive in This PC, go to Properties, then the Tools tab, and use the Error Checking feature. Even if it says you don't need it, give it a shot. Also, it sounds like your recycle bin might be corrupted, which can cause issues like these. I did get a message about the recycle bin being corrupted while resetting some file permissions. I clicked to fix it, but I’m not sure if that worked. I plan to run chkdsk tomorrow and check the recycle bin again. I'll update after that!
