I recently upgraded to a 5070ti and am noticing that my FPS isn't reaching the levels seen in online benchmarks (400 FPS in CS2 and Fortnite compared to my 200-300). After a restart and jumping straight into a game, my FPS starts high but drops after about 5 minutes. I typically run Firefox with hardware acceleration off and have about 500 tabs, plus a game clipping app in the background, but it seems these don't affect my performance. My specs include an R5 7600 and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000Mhz. I've benchmarked my system with FurMark and my scores are on par with others. I've tried toggling G-Sync but that didn't help either. I'd appreciate any insights into what might be going on!

Beware that many online benchmarks for competitive games can be misleading. Some use tweaks in Windows that I wouldn’t recommend, like disabling VBS, which lowers your system's security.
Don’t forget to check your SSD temperatures as well; they can sometimes impact performance, especially during intense gaming sessions. But it looks like your CPU temp is stable across the different FPS levels.
Yeah, my CPU temp stays consistent whether I’m hitting 200fps or 400fps, so that’s odd. I’ll check the SSD temps next!
It sounds like you might be dealing with a bottleneck, especially if your CPU isn’t keeping up. Have you considered upgrading to a 9700X or a 7800X3D? If you need performance for both gaming and work, maybe check out the 7950X3D. Just a thought!
That’s interesting! I have the same CPU and RAM, but I did hear about the 9600X3D coming out soon, so I might wait for that.
I get that! But my FPS dips after a few minutes of high performance, along with GPU power usage and VRAM—so something else must be causing it.
