Why does my internet drop every time I launch a game on Steam?

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue where my internet completely disconnects whenever I launch any game on Steam. This includes not just online games, but also offline ones. The internet reconnects as soon as I minimize the game or close it. Interestingly, non-Steam applications don't seem to have this problem at all. I've tried quite a few troubleshooting steps, including DNS flush, resetting Winsock, reinstalling Steam, disabling the overlay, updating my wireless driver, turning off the Windows Defender firewall, and even changing my download region. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas and would really appreciate any help!

I had a similar issue before, and it turned out to be my ISP's router causing the problem whenever I was downloading from Steam. It might be worth checking if your router is acting up.

That's interesting! I've had the same setup for two years without issues until recently. Suddenly, every time I try to play a game like Counter-Strike, it disconnects. I wonder if it could really be the router.
