Why Does My iPhone Keep Restarting?

I recently started experiencing a frustrating issue with my iPhone where it continuously hard resets, displaying a black screen followed by the Apple logo. This happens randomly, sometimes within a minute of turning it off. I've already tried closing all apps and even erased my iPhone completely, restoring from a backup made during these issues. I'm not sure if it's software-related, but I did have my battery replaced a few months ago and it's not recognized by the phone. I've also checked for external damage and haven't downloaded any new apps lately. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing that since you didn't get the battery replaced by Apple, a cheap one might have been used. That can lead to these kinds of issues, unfortunately.

You might want to check your analytics data in the settings. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data, and look for anything saying 'panic full.' If that's the case, it points to a failing logic board that might need replacement.

I found a ton of 'panic full' files and I think my warranty is long gone. Thanks for the heads up!

It sounds like the restarting could be linked to that replacement battery, especially if it was an aftermarket one. Sometimes these can create complications. There's also a possibility of a kernel panic causing this issue. What model are you using?

It's an iPhone 11 Pro, running iOS 18.4.1.

This issue started popping up on my old iPhone 8 too, and it turned out to be a battery that had really degraded over time. Could be something similar for you!
