I've been using my HP Victus 15 since my laptop battery bloated and had to wait for a replacement. For a couple of months, I had to hold the power button down for a long time to start it up, even without a battery. Now that I finally have a new, fully charged battery, I'm still facing the same issue. It only turns on if I hold the power button for minutes without the charger connected, then plug the charger back in while still holding the button. After that, it flashes the charging light, and I can press the button again and it starts normally. Anyone have ideas on what might be causing this?

Another possibility is that there might be a hardware issue still, especially after dealing with the bloated battery. It could be worth checking things like the power connection or potentially some other internal components. But definitely look into those power settings first to rule out software issues!
It sounds like your laptop might not be shutting down completely and is getting stuck in a low-power state like sleep or hibernation. I’d recommend checking if fast startup is enabled in Windows settings, which can sometimes cause this kind of behavior. Try disabling it and see if that helps when you shut it down next time.
I had a similar issue! Just make sure to also look at your BIOS settings. Sometimes, you might find fast startup options there that could affect the booting process.

Thanks for the tips! I'll check those settings and see if anything improves.
