Why does my MSI laptop keep shutting down during CPU-heavy games?

Hey everyone, I've recently purchased an MSI Katana A17 laptop, and I've run into a couple of issues. Initially, while gaming, the fans would go crazy, hitting around 6000 to 7000 RPM and wouldn't settle down until I powered off the laptop. I took it to MSI and they did a BIOS update and replaced the thermal paste, which solved that issue. However, now I'm experiencing a new problem where the laptop shuts down while playing CPU-intensive games like Europa Universalis 5 and Victoria 3. Interestingly, GPU-heavy games like Cyberpunk and Helldivers 2 run just fine. I've been monitoring the temperatures using HWINFO and would love to hear anyone's thoughts on what might be going wrong!

Have you checked the temperatures while gaming? Overheating could cause the system to shut down to protect itself. It sounds like it was a problem earlier with the fan speeds and might still be related to heat management during CPU tasks.

Yeah, that makes sense! I took a screenshot while gaming and the temps were hovering between 90-98 degrees, which seems pretty high. Even if it dips down when I'm not in-game, it might be pushing it too far during intense sessions.
