Why does my new high-end PC feel so slow?

I recently built a new gaming and workstation rig with top-notch components, including an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, an MSI Mag Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB of G Skill Trident Z5 RAM, and two Crucial P3 Plus 4TB NVMe SSDs. I optimized my GPU and ensured its stability, but I'm facing some concerning issues. After startup, it takes over a minute to load applications and VPN, and webpages are slow, even though I have a 1GB fiber connection. I've experienced three crashes while playing Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings with ray tracing enabled. Overall, the performance seems worse than my old 2010 i5 with 16GB RAM. I've installed all the necessary drivers and, surprisingly, there's minimal bloatware on Windows 11, plus I've only used around 20GB of storage. I even benchmarked it on 3D Mark and was just 30 points shy of the record! What could be causing these problems?

It sounds like the GPU tuning might not be stable if you're experiencing crashes during games. I'd suggest reverting your GPU settings back to stock and testing Cyberpunk again to see if that helps.

Best thing to do is reset all your overclocks to default settings. Ensure you have the latest drivers, and check for any potential conflicts with your VPN or antivirus software. After that, different browsers might yield better performance.

What's the temperature for your components? Did you adjust any BIOS settings? If you did tune your settings, it might be worth resetting everything and checking if crashes persist.

Disabling any RAM overclocks could also help with stability issues. Unstable RAM can lead to all sorts of performance problems.

Have you thought about disabling the VPN you're using? Sometimes VPNs can slow things down unexpectedly. You might also be dealing with a faulty CPU.
