Hey everyone! I recently encountered an issue where my computer boots directly into the BIOS instead of loading Windows. The weird part is that from the BIOS, I can just exit without saving changes and it takes me right into Windows without any hassle. I searched online but couldn't find anything about this situation, especially since everything else on my PC is working great and the boot speed hasn't changed. My specs are:
- AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
- 32 GB of RAM
- 1.82 TB SSD WD Blue SN580 2TB
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB)
- Motherboard: X370 GAMING PRO (MS-7A33)
- Running Windows 10 Home, Build 19045.5854

If you've recently updated your firmware, that might be worth a look! Even if everything was fine before, sometimes updates can mess with the boot settings.
You might also want to check if the key you use to access the BIOS is stuck. It sounds silly, but it can cause this issue! Just give your keyboard a quick inspection.
I had a similar issue before—it might help to check the boot order in BIOS. Sometimes, it can get mixed up, and if Windows was set to boot from a certain drive, changing it can prompt it to boot correctly again.
It sounds like there might be a BIOS setting your computer isn't happy with, causing it to boot to the BIOS instead of Windows. Try loading the default settings and save those changes. This sometimes resolves boot issues like yours.
I just checked and saw my SSD is set to MBR instead of GPT. Should I switch that over? I'm worried about doing it since it's already in use.
Yeah, definitely worth a look! It would be odd for it to change after working fine for so long, but sometimes settings get mixed up.
