I've been using my PC for about a year and a half, but lately it's been crashing unexpectedly. It can happen at any time—sometimes once a month, other times twice a day. When it crashes, the screen goes completely black, and I hear a looping sound of the last fraction of a second of audio before it cuts out. Then, I can't do anything and have to power it off by holding the button. I'm really confused about what's causing this and if there are any fixes. Any ideas?

I suggest testing your RAM. Depending on your setup, there might be a diagnostic test available in the boot menu. If not, you can create a USB with MemTest and run that for a few passes. Faulty RAM can definitely cause random crashing issues.
Hey! Have you checked if your graphics drivers are up to date? Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues. Also, do you use onboard video or do you have a dedicated graphics card? It might also be a sign that your card is failing.
When this kind of thing happens, it's worth checking the hex error code for any blue screens, but since yours just goes black, that might not help. One thing worth considering is if you have an overclocking profile enabled in the BIOS. I had a similar issue, and it turned out that my OC settings were pushing things too far. At stock speeds, everything ran fine, but even slight overvoltage caused random crashes for me. You might want to check that out.
It doesn't even blue screen, it just goes fully black, and I don't get an error message either. I don't think I have overclocked anything either. It is all very weird.
I have a fairly new AMD graphics card and I checked for updates earlier today—everything is up to date.
