Hey everyone! I've been having a frustrating issue lately where my PC crashes while playing Rust and other heavy games, especially when I'm also on a Discord call or watching YouTube. It started a few months ago when everything was fine. Interestingly, lighter games like League of Legends and Fortnite run without any problems. I've already tried some troubleshooting steps like running mdsched.exe, installing the game on a different drive, and even reinstalling Windows and the game itself. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX 3070, 32GB DDR4 RAM, and a 650W power supply. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you looked at your temperatures while playing? High temps could definitely cause crashes. Additionally, checking the Event Viewer can give clues on what's going wrong. For instance, if you’re seeing issues related to backgroundTaskHost.exe, that could point to a conflict. If things are running really hot—like your CPU hitting 80-85 degrees—that’s definitely something to address. And for virtual memory, 99% usage isn't typical, so you might want to check your system settings.
What kind of crashes are you experiencing? Is it just game crashes, or does your whole system shut down? It might help to check for any error messages. Also, make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. You can do a clean install using a tool like DDU for best results. Monitoring your CPU usage and temperatures can also provide some insights; try using HWINFO to get detailed readings.
