Why does my PC keep shutting down randomly without a BSOD?

I've been experiencing random shutdowns on my PC for the last few months, and these occurrences have become increasingly frequent. When it happens, my screens go black, the fans ramp up to max speed, and I have to perform a hard reboot, but there's no Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) to provide hints on the issue. My setup includes an i9-14900K processor, TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi motherboard, MSI RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics card, 64GB GSkill RAM running at 6400 MT/s, and a 1000W MSI 80 Plus Gold PSU. I suspect there might be an issue related to a WHEA-Logger Warning I found in the Event Viewer, which indicates that a corrected hardware error occurred on the PCI Express Root Port. I've noticed specific errors tied to Intel PCIe RC 060 (x4) G4 and Intel PCIe RC 010 G5. I'm wondering if this points to a hardware issue with either my motherboard or GPU, or if there's a possibility of CPU degradation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Note that all drivers and BIOS are updated, and I've reseated all hardware and reset the BIOS settings completely.

It sounds like you're dealing with some frustrating issues here! Firstly, while CPU degradation is possible, it's less common to consistently cause such problems on the uncore. Have you thought about checking your dump files? They can provide key insights about what might be happening. If your system can boot, try looking in C:WindowsMinidump for any crash logs. If you find something, zip it up and share it on a file host; it's crucial for diagnosing BSOD-related issues despite you mentioning no BSOD shows up. You could also follow that guide to set your dump type to Small Memory Dump for more info. Good luck!

Random shutdowns without BSODs can often be tricky. The AER you’re seeing from the root port could suggest a connection issue, potentially from your SSD or GPU. Sometimes, simply having hardware misbehave can cause the system to crash without clear error messages. If you can, share the details from the CorrectableErrorStatus and HeaderLog from the Intel components. This might help pinpoint whether it's the SSD dropping off or another component. Either way, pay attention to those logs—they can reveal a lot about what's going south in your system!

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely check the dump files and post back with any findings. I want to resolve this ASAP!
