Hi all, I'm facing an issue where my PC randomly trips the circuit breaker. Once it happens, it keeps happening repeatedly until I leave it off for a few hours. I've even tried moving it to another room to see if a different breaker would trip, and it did. I was hoping it was just an issue with the breaker itself since I rent and contacting an electrician would be on my landlord's dime. However, I'm starting to think it's a problem with my PC. My guess is that the power supply might be the culprit, but I've been told RMA could take 1-2 months, and there's no guarantee it will fix the problem. What steps can I take to diagnose and hopefully resolve this issue?

It sounds like the problem could potentially be with the breaker itself. You might need to either replace or upgrade the circuit breakers in your panel to ones that can handle a heavier load. It’s also a good idea to check the outlets. This type of problem often occurs in older homes where the wiring may not support higher-load devices. Just ensure everything is in good shape before assuming it’s the PC.

I’ve done some digging, and both breakers that tripped are rated at 120V, which should handle up to 1800W. Since my setup only includes my PC and monitors, I don't think the load from my 850W PSU should be causing issues.
