Why Does My PC Only Crash When Playing League of Legends?

I've been struggling with a frustrating issue for months now—my PC crashes or restarts randomly while I'm playing League of Legends, but it handles much more demanding games like Cyberpunk and Apex without any trouble. I've put my system through the wringer with stress tests (OCCT, Prime95, MemTest86) that show no errors.

I've replaced or tested nearly every component in my setup, reinstalled Windows several times, yet League continues to cause these hard crashes with no blue screen, just instant power loss. Here are my system specs: CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, GPU is an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti Super, I have an MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI motherboard, 64GB DDR5 RAM, a brand new 1000W Gold rated PSU, and a Samsung 970 EVO NVMe for storage. My cooling is handled by an AIO liquid cooler and everything runs at normal temperatures.

I've tried various hardware and software troubleshooting steps, including swapping out components, updating drivers, and trying different BIOS settings. The only thing that seems consistent in the Event Viewer is a Kernel 41 error.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced these crashes linked to Riot Vanguard or League, and if there's a way to determine if this could be a motherboard issue or if Vanguard's kernel driver is causing these resets. Any insight or advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like a major headache! Have you checked your GPU drivers? Sometimes simply updating or rolling back can make a difference. Also, try enabling Vsync or a frame rate limiter to see if that helps with stability during gameplay. I had a similar issue once and tweaking those settings did the trick for me.

Good idea! Sometimes those less demanding games push the system differently, so it's worth a shot to see if that helps reduce the crashes.
