Why Does My PC Performance Vary So Much Between Different Games?

I've noticed some strange performance differences when playing various games on my PC. I know e-sports games usually rely more on CPU, and my setup has a stronger GPU. For instance, when I play Red Dead Redemption 2 at high settings at 1440p, I consistently get around 60-80 fps. Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with ray tracing on low is almost always above 75 fps. However, when I try games like Valorant, my frame rate jumps between 120 to 180 fps during matches, which seems excessively variable. In Fortnite's Battle Royale mode, I sit around 50-80 fps, which also fluctuates a lot. It's strange because even tweaking the graphics settings in these e-sports titles doesn't seem to make a difference; playing Valorant at the lowest settings only looks slightly different than at 1440p on max settings. My system specs are solid: an Intel Core i5 11400F CPU, Asrock H510M-H2/M.2 motherboard, Acer Predator 3070 GPU, a Kingston NV2 1TB SSD, and 32GB of 3200 MHz RAM. My cooling setup is good too, with the CPU staying under 50°C at full load and the GPU rarely hitting 76°C. I'm starting to think my motherboard could be a bottleneck issue. Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!

E-sports games typically require strong CPUs only if you're aiming for 400+ fps. Your CPU should be fine for regular e-sports gaming, but sometimes they can perform differently. Check out benchmarks for your CPU with these games; it might be performing as expected.

I looked up some benchmarks, and they show averages of around 240 fps for Valorant and similar for Fortnite, but my system isn't hitting those numbers. One benchmark even used 8 GB of RAM and outperformed me!
