Why does my PC randomly restart while gaming?

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue with my PC where it unexpectedly restarts while I'm playing games. Initially, I thought it was just happening during The Crew Motorfest, but I've now noticed it happens in BeamNG.Drive and Counter Strike 2 as well. The restarts seem random; sometimes it'll restart after just 15 minutes of gameplay, and other times I can play for several hours without a hitch. Just the other night while playing CS2, it started acting weird, almost like it was tabbing in and out of the game repeatedly for about a minute before shutting down completely. After rebooting, I continued playing CS2 and Fortnite for 3 more hours without any issues. This has left me totally perplexed, and I'm open to any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem. Just to mention, I haven't done any overclocking on my PC. Here are my specs: R7 5800x3d, MSI RTX 4070ti, 4x16 Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 3200mhz, ROG Strix x570 Dark Hero VIII motherboard, 1TB Samsung 980 pro boot drive, 2TB WD Black SN770 NVMe, 1TB Samsung NVMe, and an EVGA Supernova 850w PSU.

Have you noticed any patterns during the crashes? Like, do they happen during specific moments like loading screens? If it's completely random, I'd be looking into your operating system. I had a similar issue, and after reapplying thermal paste, my system wouldn't boot properly until I installed Windows on a different drive, which fixed my problem.

I recommend downloading HWMonitor to check your temps while gaming. If the temperatures look stable, try checking the reliability history for clues on what might be causing these shutdowns. If that doesn’t show anything useful, you might have to dive into Event Viewer around the time of the crashes to look for any other indicators.
