Why Does My PC Randomly Shut Down During 2D Games?

I'm having an issue where my PC shuts down unexpectedly while playing 2D games like Hollow Knight, Cuphead, and Nine Sols. However, I can play more demanding 3D games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk without any problems. I'm using an RTX 3080 Ti for my GPU. What could be causing this issue? Thanks in advance!

Have you checked if your GPU drivers are up to date? Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause unexpected shutdowns, especially in specific game types. If it’s been a couple of weeks since you updated them, it might be worth reinstalling just to be safe!

I updated them about two weeks ago, so they should be current.

Have you tried reinstalling the affected games? Sometimes game files can become corrupted, which can lead to shut down issues during gameplay.

What’s the wattage of your power supply? A Corsair CX750 should be fine for most setups, but if it's under heavy load during 2D games, that might trigger a shutdown. It's curious that it only happens with those games, though!

I have the Corsair CX750, but it handles demanding games without any crashes, so I don't think that's the problem.
