I'm putting together a new PC and I'm planning to transfer my OS NVMe SSD from my current setup. I've read that it might just be a matter of unplugging it from my old PC and installing it into the new one, but I'm unsure if there are any important steps or warnings I should consider. I'm sticking with AMD for both builds, but the new one will support dual GPUs. I also have a separate SSD for gaming to move over. Any advice would be super helpful!

It's true that many people suggest doing a clean install of the OS for the best results. However, in most cases, you can plug your SSD into the new PC directly and it should work just fine without a clean install.
If you’re moving from Linux, it's smooth sailing! Just transfer it. For Windows, you might want to remove all drivers specific to your old hardware first. If you're planning to boot from the SSD, I’d avoid installing Windows on the new setup before transferring—don't forget about the boot partition too!

Thanks for the tips! I wasn’t aware of the boot partition issue. That helps a lot!
