I just built my new PC using an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 and an ROG Strix 3070, but I'm running into a serious issue. During 3D Mark stress tests with the GPU set to 100% power, the temperature climbs to about 80-83 degrees before the GPU crashes and the fans go full throttle. I end up with a black screen. However, when I reduce the power to 90%, the temperatures stabilize around 84 degrees and everything runs smoothly without any crashes. I even tried testing with the side panel off, and while it seemed okay then, I didn't complete a full stress test. I'm really confused about why it crashes at 100% power. Even with the fans at max, it still overheats. Any insights would be appreciated!

I had a similar problem with my 2080 Ti. The fix for me was replacing the thermal pads and reapplying thermal paste. It turned out the previous owner had used the wrong size thermal pad, which kept the heatsink from properly contacting the GPU die. This caused overheating and led to crashes. You might only need to repaste it, but if that doesn’t work, consider replacing the thermal pads too.
When your card crashed, did the fans also go to 100%? And did the rest of your PC stay functional, like your case fans and CPU fan?
