Why Does My Son’s PC Keep Rebooting?

I'm having trouble with my son's PC, which keeps rebooting randomly. Here are his specs: Intel i7 6700k (up to 4.2GHz), Coolermaster RGB CPU Cooler, EVGA Geforce GTX 980 4GB GPU, Gigabyte Z170X G1 Motherboard, 24GB HyperX DDR4 RAM, a 500GB SSD for booting, a 2TB HDD for storage, a Lian Li Lancool II case with 5 RGB fans, and an 850W EVGA modular power supply. He primarily uses it to make YouTube videos. We recently moved, and although I haven't found any loose connections, I've tried some basic troubleshooting like testing each RAM stick and replacing the CMOS battery, but nothing has worked. Any other ideas?

You might want to clean out the entire PC and check that everything is seated properly. Applying new thermal paste and making sure the GPU and RAM sticks are secured can help. My old GPU had issues because the thermal paste dried up. Also, consider doing a complete factory reset if the problem persists. Your motherboard might be showing some error codes too since it's around the older side, but it should still be functional.

Have you checked all connections? Reseating everything might solve the problem.

I haven't reseated everything yet, but it's definitely on my to-do list.
