Hey everyone! I'm really struggling with my WiFi. We've had fiber installed for about four years now, and while the speed is much better than our old ADSL, I keep experiencing this frustrating issue where the connection drops every 10 minutes to an hour. The modem shows a blue light when it's working and turns orange when it disconnects. I've tried changing the modem three times, switched providers, and even tested devices one by one. I've also experimented with signal amplifiers and moved the modem from the garage. My neighbors don't have similar issues, and when I called tech support, they sent someone who did a speed test and left after five minutes, claiming everything was fine. Another tech came later, saw the issue, but didn't know how to fix it. I'm out of ideas—any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Have you checked for firmware updates? Sometimes those fixes can resolve disconnection issues.
If the techs aren't offering any solutions, keep calling until they send someone who can address the issue! It's frustrating, but sometimes you have to insist since they can't just leave it unresolved. You've already done more than most, so don't give up!
I've actually tried that already! About two years ago, I had at least five different guys come out from my last provider and a couple from the new one. It didn’t help, and they even stopped sending people after I threatened to stop paying for this unreliable service.
I had a similar problem with disconnects. You might want to consider getting Starlink. I know it’s associated with Musk, but in my experience, it was a solid upgrade. It might be that your fiber line is overloaded—think of it like everyone using the water tap at once and the pressure drops!
I don't think it’s a firmware issue since this has been happening for five years, and the modem is managed by the ISP. They decide when to update it, so I doubt that’s the problem.
