I'm having a frustrating issue with Safari on my Mac. When I'm watching something on Amazon Prime Video and decide to open a new tab—like to look up the cast of a show—the video in the Amazon tab just freezes and stops playing. I have to refresh the page to get it back. This only started happening recently because before, I could have Prime playing in the background while multitasking. It's happening occasionally with other streaming sites too, but it seems pretty random. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? It's really driving me mad, especially since I didn't realize how often I browse while watching shows.

I tried this out on my setup and the video kept playing just fine. Do you have any browser extensions installed that might interfere with playback? Also, it could be worth checking if there’s a setting within the Prime Video player that’s causing the issue, not just Safari.
I do have Honey installed but I've had it for years, so I don't think that's the problem. It just started happening one day out of the blue and it’s been so annoying! I’ve looked everywhere for a solution and can’t find anyone with the same issue. How do I check my Prime settings?
