I'm experiencing really low frame rates in Battlefield 6, often dropping below 40 FPS during battles, and my PC lags significantly when I tab out of the game. I have a Ryzen 5 7600X, RTX 4060, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, all of which are relatively new - about 6 months old. Despite not having issues with other games, I noticed my CPU is running at 113% usage while playing. Strangely, my core temperatures seem normal. I've tried various fixes such as adjusting graphics settings, creating a new .cfg file, and reinstalling the game on a different SSD, but nothing seems to work. I've already played for 7 hours (most of it in the menu), and since Steam declined my refund after 4 hours, I'm at a loss. What could be causing this, and is my CPU damaged?

What settings are you using in-game and what’s the resolution? It might be VRAM limitations. Make sure to adjust the settings that prioritize CPU load to low, as that could help with performance.
Check the GPU usage in Task Manager. Sometimes, if your monitor is connected to the motherboard instead of your graphics card, the game might use the integrated GPU instead of your RTX 4060. This could definitely slow things down.
Wow, 113% CPU usage definitely sounds off! First, make sure you've got the latest BIOS for your motherboard. It could help with optimization and performance. Also, consider reapplying thermal paste on your CPU if you haven’t, since it can affect performance if it's not properly cooled.
Have you tried adjusting the user.cfg file? It really improved performance for me. Create a user.cfg in the Battlefield 6 folder with these settings:
Thread.ProcessorCount 6
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12. Give it a shot!
