I've been regularly clearing all my chats and using the 'Clear ChatGPT's Memory' option, just to start fresh. I also turned off the machine learning feature, yet lately, ChatGPT has been recalling personal information from our previous conversations. This information isn't sensitive, but it's clear that it's drawn from our chats. Sometimes, these memories pop up in the Memory tab even after I've cleared everything, which leaves me puzzled because I can't see that info anymore or the related prompts. Is this something anyone else has experienced, and should I be concerned?

There’s been a chatter about a 30-day period where deleted content might still linger before it’s entirely gone. It’s strange how old chats can pop back into the memory section when you thought you erased them.
They recently updated things to include 'personal context'. Seems like even if you've deleted stuff, it might still shape what the AI responds with. Using 'temporary chats' could help, though I know it can be a hassle.
I like using it often too! Temporary chats just stress me out with losing all my context.
I get what you're saying! Using ChatGPT usually means no personal data is stored, but things can get murky. It’s frustrating when you think you’ve wiped the slate clean and it still holds onto things.
Exactly! Just when you think you're starting fresh, it catches you off-guard with some random memory.
Even if it’s not personal, it’s annoying they don’t let us really start over completely.
Check your settings! If you have the 'Reference Chat History' option toggled on, that might explain why it seems to remember stuff, even if you've deleted your logs.
I checked, and mine is on too, but it says deleted chats aren't remembered. So confusing!
30 days? So you're telling me there's a waiting period before I can be truly free?
