I've got an Intel HD 4400 graphics card with all the proper drivers installed, but Firefox just won't take advantage of the VA-API drivers anymore. Previously, there was an option called "media.ffmpeg.vaapi.enabled," but now it's gone. Does anyone have insights into why this is happening? I'm currently using Linux Mint and while Brave works fine with the VA-API drivers, I'm curious about Firefox's performance issues.

You might want to consider switching to Palemoon or LibreWolf. The new Firefox can feel pretty bloated for older setups.
