Why is Fortnite losing FPS after downloading an app?

I've recently started playing Fortnite and downloaded an app called Medal. Ever since I did that, I've noticed a significant drop in my FPS, losing about 20-50 frames. I was wondering if downloading more apps can actually impact my game's performance. If I were to delete a hefty game like GTA 5, would I see any improvement in my FPS?

Uninstalling other games like GTA 5 won't directly affect your FPS in Fortnite. The real issue is likely a background app that's taking up resources. Have you checked the task manager to see if something else is causing the slowdown?

The only thing running is Medal right now, but it's still an issue.

If your disk space is close to being full, that can cause performance drops. If you delete GTA 5, that could potentially free up resources and help with your FPS. You'll want to keep an eye on what apps are running in the background as well!

Great, I’ll take a look at my storage situation.

It sounds like your disk might be running low on storage. If your storage is almost full, that can definitely cause performance issues. Consider cleaning out some space, and if you can, think about upgrading your hardware like getting a better GPU or more storage!

I checked and my disk is pretty full, so that makes sense.

From what I've heard, Medal can be a real FPS killer, especially in games like Tarkov. Many users have reported similar problems with Medal causing significant drops in performance. It's been a known issue for a while now, and unfortunately, there's no solid fix yet.
