I've tried various distributions like KDE Ubuntu, Arch, and Fedora, but KDE Plasma just doesn't seem to work for me. Windows get stuck during the closing animation and start twitching, and the hover menus over applications get cropped or stretched. I've ensured that all necessary drivers for my Nvidia graphics card are installed. I previously used GNOME on Ubuntu without any issues, so I'm confused about why KDE performs so poorly on my relatively new PC—especially since I thought it would be lighter than GNOME!

Honestly, I've been using KDE Plasma on Fedora without any issues. Maybe it's worth looking into whether your system has driver conflicts? Also, GNOME seems to work smoothly. If KDE keeps giving you grief, trying a different desktop environment for a bit like Cinnamon or Hyprland could be a good test.
Have you checked for any hardware issues? What are your specs? Sometimes the issues can be related to specific components not playing nice with KDE.
I had issues when I tried to install KDE on top of GNOME in Ubuntu. You definitely want to wipe the previous installation if you can. That goes for a clean install like with Kubuntu, because mixing can lead to weird problems down the road.
I did wipe the previous install and went straight for Kubuntu, so I don't think that's it.
I'm on an Nvidia 2060, Intel i5 CPU, 32GB RAM, and an ASRock B450 Pro4 motherboard, with SSDs for storage.
