I'm having trouble getting my Acer ED320QR P monitor to display at 144Hz. It's connected to my ASUS TUF F15 laptop, which has an Nvidia RTX 2050 GPU that should support 144Hz. I'm using a cable that works with my PlayStation 5 to show 120Hz, but I thought I could get 144Hz when hooked up to my gaming laptop. I've tried everything from updating my drivers to tinkering with various settings, but I've only seen 120Hz options in every configuration I check. Windows shows that I'm connected to the Intel integrated GPU instead of the Nvidia one, which might be the problem. I've even messaged with Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) and got nothing. Is it a cable, GPU, or a software issue? I need help figuring this out!

It sounds like your laptop is defaulting to the integrated GPU instead of the Nvidia one, which often caps the refresh rate. I've had a similar thing happen. Make sure your Nvidia GPU is enabled in Device Manager and set it as the default. For laptops, you might need to dive into the BIOS or settings to switch it. That's probably why you're seeing everything greyed out in the Nvidia Control Panel.
I know how confusing that can be! Disabling the Intel GPU might cause issues since some laptops require both to work properly. It's like they work together to ensure a stable output.
