I recently bought a prebuilt PC and decided to upgrade the RAM. My setup had 2x8GB Tishric RAM, but I swapped it out with my 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM. After the swap, I noticed that my PC only detects 16GB of RAM total. When I tested the 16GB sticks one by one, they both showed up correctly. However, when I installed both, the BIOS recognizes them as 2x8GB instead of 2x16GB. I'm confused about why this is happening and would appreciate any insights or explanations. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X CPU, Gigabyte A520M K V2 Motherboard, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPU.

Make sure your RAM is on the motherboard's supported list. If it's not, that could cause detection issues.
Have you tried reseating the CPU? Also, what happens if you mix one of your 8GB sticks with a 16GB stick?
Not yet, but I'll look into reseating the CPU. I did test a 16GB stick with an 8GB stick, and it showed 16GB detected.
Double-check that you've placed the RAM in the correct slots. Usually, it should be A2 and B2 for dual-channel mode.
Yes, it's a Micro ATX motherboard with only two slots, so I did place them correctly.
Have you checked if your new RAM sticks are dual rank? Sometimes the rank can affect how they get detected by the BIOS.
Yeah, I did some digging, and they are indeed dual rank.

I found a compatibility listing, but I'm not 100% sure if they're compatible with my motherboard.
