Why is my 240Hz monitor limiting games to 120 FPS in fullscreen?

I'm experiencing an issue where my games are capped at 120 FPS when I play them in fullscreen mode on my 240Hz monitor. However, when I switch to windowed borderless, the frame rate isn't capped. I'm looking for suggestions on how to resolve this FPS cap issue so I can fully utilize my monitor's refresh rate while gaming.

First, you should try disabling V-Sync, FreeSync, or G-Sync if any of those features are enabled. Sometimes they can cause frame rate limitations. After that, test your FPS again in fullscreen.

I turned everything off and I'm still capped at 120 FPS.

Make sure to check for any monitor drivers or firmware updates on the manufacturer's website. Sometimes having outdated drivers can cause performance issues.

I found out that AMD capped my FPS for some reason. I spent over an hour trying to figure it out, but I still have no clue why they did that. It's so frustrating!

Okay, I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

I tried that and I'm still having the same issue. Any other ideas?
