Why Is My 240Hz Monitor Only Displaying 176Hz in Fortnite?

I've got a 240Hz monitor, and I've checked both my Windows and Nvidia settings, which confirm that they're set to 240Hz. However, when I jump into games like Fortnite and select the 240Hz option, my frame rate maxes out at 176Hz and doesn't budge from there. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

What are the specs of your PC? What graphical settings are you using in-game? Have you tried lowering the quality settings to see if your frame rate improves?

Are you using a DisplayPort or HDMI cable? Sometimes the cable type can limit the refresh rates available, so it’s worth checking that out.

Is this problem only in Fortnite, or are there other games where the refresh rate is capped? Also, are you playing with VSync turned on or off?

What model is your monitor? Just making sure it truly supports 240Hz, as some monitors advertise high refresh rates but might have limitations.
