Why is my ASUS Dual RX 9060 XT running hotter than my friends’ cards?

Hey everyone! I just picked up an ASUS Dual RX 9060 XT 16GB, and I've noticed my GPU temperatures are higher than my friends' with the same model. While gaming under heavy load, my card runs at about 71°C - 72°C, which I know is within the safe range, but they're all reporting temperatures under 60°C. Here's my setup:
- GPU: ASUS Dual RX 9060 XT 16GB
- Case: Deepcool CC360
- Fans: 2 intake at the front, 1 exhaust at the back
- OS: Windows 11 with the latest drivers

Even though my performance is solid with no crashes or artifacts, I'm worried if something's wrong with my card, like bad thermal paste application or a cooler issue. Is 72°C typical for this model? Why the 12°C difference with my friends? Should I think about returning it or trying things like an undervolt or custom fan curve first? Would love your thoughts!

I understand your concern! A slight variation in temperature can happen, but let's not jump to conclusions just yet. Before considering an RMA, make sure your thermal paste is fine and that your cooling setup is optimal. Trying an undervolt or tweaking the fan curve might lower those temps too.

Thanks! I'll definitely try that. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obviously wrong!

Hey! First off, 72°C isn't necessarily alarming since it’s within safe limits, but it is curious that your friends are getting much cooler temps. One thing to consider is whether your vBIOS switch is configured the same way as theirs. If it’s in a different mode, that could impact your temps. You might want to check that out!

Good point! Also, keeping an eye on your case airflow and dust buildup can help. Sometimes, even slight differences in fans or how you arrange cables can make a difference in temperatures.
