Why is my ASUS RTX 4060 overheated at 82-86°C under load?

I'm noticing that my ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition keeps hitting temperatures between 82 and 86 degrees Celsius when it's running at full load during gaming sessions, like in Zenless Zone Zero and Resident Evil 7 which I have capped at unlimited FPS. I've set up my PC with three intake fans and one exhaust fan, and I'm using a Peerless Assassin 120 SE for cooling. One thing I noticed is that my wifi card is blocking about a quarter of one of the GPU's fans. Also, I'm gaming at 1080p resolution. Is this temperature range normal? What can I do to improve cooling?

Those temps are on the higher side, but during intense gaming sessions, it’s not unusual. To improve cooling, ensure that your fans are set up for optimal airflow and maybe consider adding a couple more if your case allows it. Just be cautious of any components blocking air paths!

Exactly! Also, keep an eye on dust buildup inside your case; cleaning it regularly can make a big difference.

It sounds like your GPU is just hitting high temps because it’s under full load. That’s pretty common, especially when you're on unlimited FPS. Having an obstructed fan from the wifi card definitely isn't helping either. If you can, maybe consider rearranging your setup or enhancing airflow. A picture of your build would help others give better advice!

Yeah, airflow is crucial! Also, you might want to check if your case has good ventilation overall. Sometimes, it just takes a little rearranging.
