I started playing Dead by Daylight today and everything was fine at first, but as soon as my character took damage, the game became extremely laggy and unplayable. I ended up closing the game during the match. I thought it might just be because my PC is a bit older, but then I tried another game later and encountered the same issue right from the start. I noticed that my entire computer slowed down as well, affecting my mouse and browser tabs. Eventually, my screen went black, and I had to restart my PC to get it back. I'm really looking for help here!

Have you checked your CPU and GPU temperatures? If your GPU is hitting 93°C while gaming, that's definitely too high and could cause lag.
What type of drive do you have? I'd recommend checking the brand and exact model, as it could have an impact on your performance.
It's a ST1000DM003-1SB102.
Sounds like it might be a graphics driver issue. I'd suggest using DDU to completely uninstall your graphics drivers and then install the latest ones for your card. That could make a difference.
Try running an antivirus scan and remove any unnecessary apps. You might also want to verify your game files and check for any overheating. If it's really bad, consider backing up your data and reinstalling Windows.

I don't know how to check the CPU temps, but yeah, my GPU is at 93°C!
