Why is my CPU overheating after an upgrade?

I recently upgraded my PC but kept my GPU and SSD the same. I added a Ryzen 7 7900x processor, a Gigabyte x650 Gaming X AX motherboard, upgraded my power supply from 650 to 850 watts, and added a new M.2 SSD along with my old SSD. I also switched to a new case. However, upon booting and entering the BIOS, I've noticed my CPU's temperature slowly rises, starting at around 42°C and reaching up to 105°C before crashing. I've reapplied thermal paste and I'm fairly certain my AIO cooler isn't broken. I'm wondering if the clock speed settings in my BIOS could be an issue. Right now, it's set at a 38 clock ratio with a 100.0 MHz clock speed, which is lower than the 4.7 GHz that the 7900x is rated for, but I'm not sure if that would cause such high temps. Can someone help me figure this out?

You might want to remount your cooler. Ensure it's installed correctly because if it’s not making good contact, it could cause those extreme temperatures. If the issue continues, the AIO may be faulty, and you should consider a warranty return or getting a replacement.

What CPU cooler are you using? Make sure it's capable of handling the Ryzen 7 7900x's heat. Sometimes, the cooling solution can be overlooked in upgrades. If it's an AIO cooler like a Master Liquid 240, that should generally be good, but definitely confirm it’s working well.

Oh yeah, I’m using the Master Liquid 240 AIO. Should I check anything specific with it?

Also, double-check that both the CPU and AIO cooler are properly seated. It’s crucial for cooling efficiency. Additionally, make sure your BIOS is fully updated to support the new components properly.
