Why is my CPU overheating while idle?

I'm experiencing major overheating issues with my CPU, hitting up to 80 degrees Celsius when it's idle. When I play games like Battlefield and Overwatch, it soars to around 95 degrees, even though the usage is only about 60-70%. I've already cleaned my PC and replaced the thermal paste, but it's still dangerously close to throttling. What troubleshooting steps or solutions can I try to fix this?

If you're really struggling with overheating, you might want to consider upgrading to a better CPU cooler, like the Thermalright PS120. It should help keep those temperatures down.

What CPU and cooler are you using? Also, double-check that you removed the protective plastic from the bottom of the cooler before installing it. That could be an issue!

Thanks for the tip! I actually forgot to mention I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with the stock cooler, and I removed the plastic.
