I've been gaming two to three times a week without any issues, but recently my PC started running incredibly slow. I noticed that my CPU isn't exceeding 0.80 GHz, not even when I try to play games, which makes everything feel painfully laggy. I've tried various solutions, but nothing seems to help. Here are my specs: CPU: I7 14700KF, Motherboard: Z790 Aorus Elite AX, Watercooler: NZXT Kraken 240mm, Power Supply: 850 watt Corsair, Memory: 2x 16 GB Corsair DDR5, GPU: RTX 3070 Gigabyte. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

What’s the CPU temperature looking like? If the AIO cooler isn’t functioning properly, it might be causing thermal throttling and keeping your speeds low.
Have you checked how long you’ve had the PC? Also, did you update the BIOS recently? Some 14th gen CPUs had issues with degradation that an update could fix.
I upgraded the CPU, motherboard, and RAM back in November 2024.
Sounds like you're in eco mode. Try changing your power plan to performance, and check your BIOS settings to turn off eco mode. Also, make sure your PSU doesn’t have an eco switch on it.
This happened to my laptop years ago! I tried everything, but nothing worked until I used ThrottleStop to bring my CPU back to its normal speed. It still doesn’t perform like it used to, but it helped a bit. If nothing else works for you, give ThrottleStop a shot!
Just a thought—make sure your cooling fins aren’t clogged with dust. Sometimes dust buildup can cause poor heat dissipation, leading to these throttling issues.
It's at 33 degrees Celsius.
