Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to PC troubleshooting, so I could use some help. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. Normally, I just play one game at a time and run Discord, along with SteelSeries and Spotify. Recently, I've noticed that my CPU usage spikes between 75-95% when gaming, and I usually have about 250-400 processes running. My temperatures seem fine and all my drivers are updated. Any advice on what I should do to fix this?

It sounds like your CPU might be getting overloaded with the game and background tasks. Try closing some unnecessary processes when you game. Also, check the game's settings; lowering some graphical options could help reduce the CPU load.
Sometimes, having too many background apps running can max out your CPU. You might want to consider checking your task manager for stuff you can close while gaming. Also, if you haven't already, make sure your power settings are optimized for performance.
Yeah, I did that recently, and it helped a lot! Also, look into whether your CPU cooler is working well; overheating can cause performance issues.

That's a good point! I noticed changing the settings can make a huge difference, especially in CPU-intensive games.
