Why is My CPU Usage So High While My GPU is Underused?

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a puzzling situation with my PC that's primarily used for gaming and streaming. It's been working smoothly for about nine months, but now my CPU usage is frequently spiking to around 98%, even when I'm not running any games or streaming software like OBS. My GPU seems to be underutilized, only reaching about 30% usage at most. Also, the CPU temperatures seem normal, and I'm not hitting memory constraints—I usually sit around 50% memory usage with plenty of storage still available. I've updated all my software, checked for malware, and followed Windows and OBS recommendations, yet nothing has helped, and I can't pinpoint any specific processes causing this issue. Do any of you have ideas about what might be happening? Here are my specs:

- OS: Windows 11
- CPU: Intel i5-13400F 10-Core
- GPU: GeForce RTX060 Ti 8 GB
- Mobo: MSI B660M-A
- Memory: Teamgroup 32 GB (2x16) DDR4
- PSU: ABS Cyclops 650W 80+ Gold

First things first: double-check that your monitor is plugged into the graphics card and not the motherboard. It's a common oversight! Also, take a peek in Device Manager to ensure your GPU is recognized there. If everything looks good, consider reseating the graphics card just to be safe.

Regarding GPU usage, if it never hits above 60% even during intensive tasks, the issue might be related to a specific software or configuration, rather than a hardware fault.

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, the monitor is definitely connected to the graphics card, and I can confirm it's visible in Device Manager. I might give reseating a shot. But it's strange that the GPU usage stays so low—I would expect higher usage during regular gaming.
