Why is my FPS so low with my GPU and CPU setup?

I'm experiencing surprisingly low FPS while gaming at 4K with ray tracing and DLSS enabled. I have a 5090 GPU paired with a 9950X3D CPU, and based on my research, I should be getting around 180 FPS in games like Cyberpunk. However, I'm only hitting about 100 FPS. It feels like there might be a bottleneck somewhere in my setup, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help me out?

It sounds like the 9950X3D shouldn't be bottlenecking your 5090. Have you checked your GPU and CPU utilization while gaming? Sometimes background applications can hog resources and affect performance. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date and consider tweaking in-game settings as well.

Yeah, I've had that issue before. Even with decent hardware, things like thermal throttling can hit your performance hard. Just ensure everything is running cool.

I don’t think a 9950X3D can bottleneck a 5090 either. Maybe check your power settings and ensure your GPU is running at its best performance. Sometimes, power saving options can kick in during gaming and reduce your FPS.
