Why is my gaming PC lagging after switching from Intel to AMD?

I've been a PC gamer in the past, but I recently upgraded several components from Intel to AMD with help from a tech-savvy friend. I switched to a new AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, a Gigabyte B650 motherboard, and upgraded my memory to 32GB DDR5 while also moving to Windows 11. Unfortunately, I'm now experiencing a lot of lag and sluggishness on my system, especially with games like WoW Classic that should run smoothly. I can't easily go back to my friend for help since I live quite far away and transporting my PC isn't appealing. He suggested I might need to reset the BIOS, but I'm hesitant about messing around in there. I'm open to any troubleshooting tips or questions you might have!

Before diving into BIOS, double-check your data backups. Changing BIOS settings can lead to data loss. But remember to check if the Windows installation was smooth—if anything feels off, that could be your culprit.

First up, did you reinstall Windows after your hardware upgrade? Sometimes that step can make a huge difference in performance. If not, you might want to consider doing that just to eliminate any potential issues with the installation.

It looks like you don't have a dedicated GPU listed in your new parts. Are you still using the RTX 3070 you mentioned? It’s pretty important for gaming performance, so make sure it’s correctly installed and recognized by your system.
