I'm playing SplitGate 2 and generally averaging around 120fps, but I'm noticing 1% lows of 60, which are quite noticeable. My CPU and GPU aren't hitting high usage; the GPU is around 60% at a temperature of 50°C, while my CPU is sitting at about 50% and at 70°C. I haven't set any frame caps in the game. Can anyone help me understand what might be limiting my performance? I game at 1080p and my CPU cores are all fairly balanced, with none going above 80%. Here are my specs: RTX 4070 Super, Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB DDR4 3600MT RAM, and a Gigabyte A520M DS3H V1.

It looks like your CPU might be the one holding you back. Even though you have a 12-core CPU, games typically don’t fully utilize all cores, especially ones from previous generations. Seeing cores hit around 80% makes me think that they could still be a limiting factor in performance after all. Also, watch out! Your motherboard might be underpowered for your CPU, which could lead to thermal or power limitations on your system.
From what you've described, your setup should perform well, but asynchronous online games can behave differently than benchmarks. You may just be experiencing some inefficiencies due to the game's optimization. Sometimes, it’s best not to overthink every dip in performance, as unoptimized games can lead to these kinds of frame issues.
Consider checking your motherboard’s power delivery. If you're using non-standard cables for your GPU, it could lead to throttling. Make sure your GPU uses the cable meant for it from your PSU. If there's a 2 or 4 PCIe to 12vhpwr adapter involved, each cable should ideally come straight from the PSU, not daisy-chained. This could help improve your performance.
